I am pregnant and I feel sleepy and tired all the time. Is this normal?

Feeling tired is normal, especially during the early months. It usually improves mid-pregnancy and often recurs in the weeks just before birth. Now you can see that all the features, muscles bones, blood, etc. of your baby i.e all the body parts are getting fully developed. For this more nourishment is required which comes from you, so unless you eat more and take proper nutrition, you are bound to feel tired. The extra weight you are carrying will make your body work harder than before you were pregnant. Exercise increases the flow of oxygen and blood to the muscles being worked and away from other parts of your body.

 Therefore, it is important to not overdo it. Try to exercise moderately so you don’t get tired quickly. If you are able to talk normally while exercising, your heart rate is at an acceptable level. The type of exercise you can do during pregnancy depends on your health and how active you were before you became pregnant. This is not a good time to take up a new, hard sport. If you were active before, you can continue to be within reason. If, for example, you play tennis, you can still play unless you have special problems or feel very tired. A good rule of thumb is to limit exertion to about 2/3 of what you could do before pregnancy. Eat nutritious food throughout your pregnancy and keep yourself hydrated all the time. Eat your folic acid tablets and other prenatal vitamins on time. And most importantly keep yourself calm and meditate if possible to ease the changes you go through.

How do you feel at 4 weeks pregnant?

You may notice some subtle signs of pregnancy—fatigue, nausea, frequent urination, aversions to foods that you normally love, morning sickness, breast swelling and tenderness, and a missed period if you are very regular with menstruation. Now how do you know when you can expect your baby? The average pregnancy lasts 280 days from the last menstrual period, or more precisely, 266 days following your last ovulation cycle (or approximately 40 weeks). a) A blood and urine test to confirm you are pregnant and estimate your due date
b) A detailed medical history review
c) A general physical health exam to examine weight, blood pressure, heart, lung, pelvic, and breast, health
d) A blood test to check for things like anemia, existing STDs, and antibodies to rule out any genetic disorders (if it’s in your medical history)
e) A Pap smear and culture to check for vaginal infection and cervical cancer
f) A urine test to check for infection, as well as measure sugar and protein levels
g) A discussion about your nutrition and lifestyle, and to answer any questions you might have about your pregnancy.

Your first-month baby is very small. when you do sonography it looks like a very slimy bean like character. Taking prenatal vitamins is important. It's difficult for most of us (even those with the best nutritional habits) to get everything we need from our diets, especially the proper amounts of iron, calcium, and folate/folic acid. Folic acid is important for the prevention of neural tube defects. Pregnant women also need adequate amounts of vitamins A, B complex, E, C, D, and zinc. Always make sure you are happy and keeping yourself positive since the pregnancy period is full of zeal and lot of mood swings and you have to keep up with the patience but at last when you will hold your baby in your hand would be the most precious moment for you.
